Tottenham suffer Son Heung-min injury blow with Spurs ace to undergo surgery

Tottenham Hotspur have been hit with a major injury blow after confirming that Son Heung-Min has suffered a broken arm.

The South Korean star scored twice in the weekend win over Aston Villa, including a 94th minute winner.

But Son suffered an arm injury in a collision with Villa’s Ezri Konsa just 31 seconds into the encounter at Villa Park.

He subsequently required treatment both in the opening period and during the half-time break.

He played through the pain to prove the match-winner for Jose Mourinho’s side, but scans on the right arm have since shown a fracture just below the elbow.

As such, he will now undergo an operation that will see him sidelined for “a number of weeks.

A club statement declared: “Heung-Min Son is to undergo surgery this week after sustaining a fracture to his right arm.

Son will miss the Champions League clash with Leipzig and the meeting with Chelsea

“The South Korea international suffered the injury during our win against Aston Villa on Sunday.

“Following surgery, our medical staff shall be reviewing management options for Son’s rehabilitation with the player expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks.”
