Tottenham star Hugo Lloris gives Harry Kane injury verdict after Man City win

Harry Kane had to come off for Tottenham after a serious collision with Fabian Delph midway through the first half.

Both players challenged for the ball near the touchline where the managers stood but Delph got there first and unfortunately followed through on his England team-mate.

Kane immediately went off in pain and was replaced by Lucas Moura.

Delph was spared a red card of any punishment for that matter, as Spurs went on to win the game 1-0.

Kane’s captain Loris had his say on the situation, noting his hopefulness that the injury wasn’t too serious.

”Hopefully it is not to bad. I don’t know,” he said after the game.

“You know the feeling when one of your best players is going off the field.

“But we stayed strong and we finished the game in the right way.”

Lloris made himself the hero of the night as he saved Sergio Aguero’s penalty early in the first half.

The penalty was given after Danny Rose was judged to have handled the ball in the box.

No Manchester City players appealed for the penalty when Raheem Sterling‘s shot came off Rose’s arm, but a quick check at VAR overturned the referee’s original decision to not give anything.

Aguero stepped up, however, and placed his penalty to Lloris’ left – but the Frenchman saved brilliantly.

Tottenham ultimately won the game thanks to a goal from Heung-Min Son.

Son managed to keep a ball in play after evading a potential offside decision before squirming a shot underneath City goalkeeper Ederson.

Tottenham play City again next week in the second leg before taking them on again a week on Sunday in the Premier League.
