Tottenham slap £250m price-tag on Harry Kane with concerns that frustrated striker will look for the exit door

TOTTENHAM will slap a whopping £250million price-tag on star man Harry Kane after growing concerned that he will look for the exit door, according to reports.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are in the midst of a crisis following their embarrassing Carabao Cup loss to League Two Colchester.

It means their only realistic chances of ending their 11-year wait for silverware remain in the FA Cup or the Champions League.

Kane, 26, is desperate to start winning club honours and faces another season of disappointment following Spurs’ poor start to the campaign.

According to the Telegraph, chairman Daniel Levy has recognised that Europe’s top clubs are ready to test his resolve for the striker and therefore will only sell him for a world-record fee.

Levy will only cash in if they receive £250m, eclipsing the £198m figure that Paris Saint-Germain paid Barcelona for Neymar.

The decision only emphasises the startling problems at the North London club.

They have won just two games this season and Kane slammed his side’s performances before admitting they’ve run out of excuses.

He said: “It’s been disappointing. I don’t think there’s any hiding behind that.

“To only win two games out of our first eight is not the standard that we’ve set in previous years.

“We’re not inexperienced any more, we’re not young any more. The excuses aren’t there for us any more — it’s down to us players to take responsibility.”
