Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has worked his magic once again as he’s set about making a new leader within the club’s dressing room.
Conte’s appointment at the club back in November has helped lead to an upturn in form from a number of Spurs players including the likes of Cristian Romero, Matt Doherty and Harry Kane with the north London outfit now on the brink of qualifying for next season’s Champions League. And their Premier League top-four charge has been helped hugely by the newfound leadership skills of Eric Dier.
It comes as Erik ten Hag’s failed Spurs interview and his “odd demands” have been revisited with the Dutchman said to be on the verge of becoming Manchester United’s next manager. And Tottenham’s remaining Premier League fixtures have been compared with rivals Arsenal.
Here are Mirror Football’s latest Tottenham Hotspur headlines.

Fixtures compared
Tottenham Hotspur are sitting on the verge of Champions League qualification after leapfrogging Arsenal in the Premier League table.
Antonio Conte’s side lifted themselves into fourth place in the table with their 5-1 win over Newcastle United on Sunday before Arsenal fell to a 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace on Monday. It’s handed Spurs the initiative in the race for Champions League football, although the Gunners still have a game in hand on their rivals.
With just a handful of fixtures remaining, Mirror Football has taken a look at the games both sides have left – and who could hold the advantage heading into the final stretch.
Ten Hag’s failed interview
Erik ten Hag is reportedly set to be named Manchester United manager – despite failing to learn his lesson from his failed interview with Tottenham.
United bosses are said to have raised the same reservations about Ten Hag as Tottenham chiefs did a year ago following his interview for the role at Old Trafford. It has been claimed that questions were raised over the Ajax boss’ lack of charisma at his interview, something which helped persuade Spurs to opt for appointing Nuno Espirito Santo over the Dutchman last year.
Ten Hag also made “odd demands” during his Spurs interview – as he reportedly only wanted to bring one member of staff with him from Ajax.
Conte creates new leader
Eric Dier has become one of the leaders inside the Tottenham Hotspur changing room under Antonio Conte’s leadership, it has been claimed.
The Spurs defender has been described as a “leader” by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher following an impressive run of form for Conte’s side. Dier has started all of Spurs’ last eight Premier League matches, during which time they have won six games to boost their hopes of Champions League qualification.
And the England international is just another example of a player who has found a new lease of life since Conte took charge at the club.
