Spurs were due to face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium and Liverpool Newcastle at St James’ Park just 48 hours before the second legs of their Champions League last four games at Ajax and at home to Barcelona respectively.
On Friday night the Premier League were in talks with the clubs and Sky TV and BT Sport to configure new dates for both games, which will be decided this week.
On Friday, Dutch football chiefs cancelled a full round of Eredivisie fixtures before Ajax meet Spurs.
Ajax were set to play De Graafschap on Sunday, 28 April, then travel to Spurs for the first leg on Tuesday, 30 April.
The Dutch FA, the KNVB, said the decision to cancel top-flight fixtures was taken to give Ajax “at least two full days of rest between games”.
Pochettino said: “It will be tough because you can only move the game against Bournemouth to the Saturday or Sunday. We are talking but we are not expecting much because it is so difficult.
“For the semi-final we need to make sure both teams will have same days to prepare for the game, the same gap between the first leg and second leg, if we want to be fair. In the semi-final, both teams deserve to have same preparation.”
Pochettino has previously fumed over the Premier League and FA’s seeming reluctance to help English teams competing in Europe.
“[Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund] are not going to arrive in the same situation,” Pochettino said in March.
“It is not the same to have 24 hours more or less to prepare for the game.
“We must prioritise different things and we cannot work on the pitch. It is not fair for the players and for the team who compete with a massive disadvantage.
“It’s impossible in this type of game, the last 16 of the Champions League – with how important it is – that one team have 24 hours more than the other to prepare.
“We need help from the FA, we need help from the Premier League, and it’s true they need to be more sensitive to this type of situation.
“It’s difficult already and it’s going to be more difficult. Look what happened with Rennes in the Europa League.
“They cancelled their game at the weekend to help provide Rennes [with more time] to play against Arsenal [in Thursday’s Europa League tie].
“In Europe the FAs are more sensitive. It is a problem that we need to change if we want to help the English clubs be stronger in the competition.”
