Tottenham fans use Barcelona to demand transfer after Son Heung-min injury

Tottenham fans have demanded that they should be allowed to sign an emergency striker after losing Son Heung-min to injury. The club announced today that their forward will be undergoing surgery on the problem picked up in the 3-2 win at Aston Villa.

Son is believed to have sustained the issue following a strong challenge from Ezri Konsa in the first half of the trip to the Midlands.

He decided to battle on though and it proved to be a good decision, as he scored twice including a dramatic 95th minute winner.

Now Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to plead for the chance to sign an emergency striker having lost both Harry Kane and Son.

It’s an idea that they have got from Barcelona, who have been handed the chance to do so after losing Ousmane Dembele to long-term injury.

“We have now Son and Kane injuried. Can we get the same chance?? #thfc #Tottenham #Spurs #Son”

Another wrote: “If the FA gave Tottenham the permission to sign a striker to replace Son, like La Liga gave Barcelona… Levy would negotiate deals from now til the end of the season and bring in a CB for next Jan.”

A third said: “As a Tottenham fan it would be useful to be able to sign a striker outside the transfer window, especially given the recent news on Son. I mean, we’d still fail to do so, but would be nice to have the option.”

Another fan mocked Daniel Levy: “Son injured no problems tho we can sign a striker outside the window like Barca… by the time levy has haggled over 2 million they will both be back”

While another argued the case: “Will Spurs get an emergency signing because if this injury like Barcelona? @LaLigaEN can you put in a good word?”

Barcelona are now exploring the market for a new striker.

The Catalan giants are now posed to sign striker Martin Braithwaite from Leganes.

The Denmark international is formerly of Middlesbrough and has a £15m release clause.

Tottenham take on RB Leipzig in the Champions League tomorrow night.
