TOTTENHAM 0-0 WEST HAM

28: Mark Noble vs Giovani Lo Celso in a foot-race. Guess how that one ended? The West Ham captain is booked for chopping his opponent down.

25: So easy. Too easy. Lucas Moura walks past Declan Rice and rockets one at goal that Lukasz Fabianski palms behind for a corner. That set-piece comes to nothing.

Ah… it’s a drinks break. Wouldn’t wan too much momentum to build. This is a drinks break with the added torture of horrible music blaring from all corners of the stadium.

22: Close! Michail Antonio causing problems again. He takes advantage of Dele Alli misguiding a free-kick and nips in ahead of Ben Davies to prod a half-volley towards goal. Hugo Lloris saves and Eric Dier blocks the rebound from Jarrod Bowen.

21: I liked the Spurs line-up when it was first announced. Looked very attacking. But I have to say they look a bit disjointed out there.

Serge Aurier is bombing forward but Ben Davies isn’t. Son is drifting around No man’s land and Harry Kane has barely touched it. Tweaks required from Jose Mourinho.

18: Doesn’t look good this. West Ham’s Pablo Fornals went in hard on Serge Aurier and the right-back stays down. Nothing too malicious just a forward’s challenge. Anyway, referee Craig Pawson books him. Aurier has a bit of treatment and he’s back up and running again.

15: Lucas Moura sends a beautiful pass into Serge Aurier, who promptly wins a corner. Nothing comes of it but I suspect we’ll see more of that combination this evening.

13: I made Son Heung-Min my Fantasy Football captain this week. Think I’m around 4.2million in the world – so 200 points tonight should see me break into the top 3million.

10: Just passed the 10-minute mark and West Ham have enjoyed the better of the opening stages – but with no genuine striker they haven’t been able to make it count. Tottenham showing signs of warming to the task. Slowly but surely.

8: Always enjoyable seeing Serge Aurier do exactly what he likes. The right-back is playing as a right-winger and has just been penalised for offside.

5: And another decent opening. West Ham really have started the brighter. Aaron Cresswell sends a deep delivery in from the left channel and nobody in a white shirt can deal with it. Jarrod Bowen looks to ping it back inside but Davinson Sanchez blocks.

3: Oh hello! Now that’s a genuine chance for West Ham. Michail Antonio, who’s playing as a centre-forward tonight fends off his marker and brings a cross field pass under his control with his back to goal.

He knocks it back to the onrushing Mark Noble and the midfielder just can’t get it on his right peg. He’s stopped and the ball runs out of play.

TOTTENHAM 0-0 WEST HAM

1: And we’re underway folks. Martin Tyler on commentary duty for the 500th time since the re-start. I wonder if he’s going to suggest that all footballers follow in the footsteps of Son Heung-min and do some military service… again…

The defence rests…

Jose Mourinho should have been a lawyer. Fact. The way he defended the goal records of strikers he previously managed is quite astounding.

I’m sure you saw former Arsenal player Paul Merson having a pop, saying Harry Kane would struggle under Jose’s leadership.

Well… Jose responded. Emphatically.

“I think Kane has no problems scoring in my teams,” the Portuguese said. “I have a guy called Drogba. He played for me four seasons, he scored 186 goals.

“I had another guy who is also not bad, plays for Juventus now. He played for me three seasons, he scored 168 goals. I had another guy who is also not bad, Karim Benzema. He played for me three seasons, he scored 78 goals in three seasons.

“I had another called Milito, he played one season, he scored 30 goals, won three titles. I had another guy, he played for one and a half seasons, in the other half he had a big injury.

“A tall guy called Zlatan. He scored 58 goals, which gives a 29 average per season.”

All done

Leicester and Brighton drew 0-0. It was a slog. I mean it – candidate for worst game of the season. But you know what they say about how a bad game is a good omen for the second. They do say that… OK, well I’m saying it now.

Latest elsewhere

The early kick-off was Leicester vs Brighton – and there’s clearly an interest to both Tottenham and West Ham.

Well it’s sort of good news for Spurs in that it’s goalless with 10 minutes remaining. Not so good for David Moyes’ outfit with the Seagulls now six points ahead.

Neal Maupay saw his first-half penalty saved by Kasper Schmeichel… and that’s been about it. I’ll let you know if anything changes.

Spotless

During his entire managerial career, Tottenham boss José Mourinho has managed more games against David Moyes without losing than he has versus any other manager (13 – W8 D5).

But… you know… records are there to be broken… Sorry Hammers fans, it’s going to be a very difficult night at the office in my opinion.

Just watching that defeat to Wolves on Saturday – there was so little to give supporters any encouragement.

Twitter round-up

Ryan: Honestly what is David Moyes?! I thought I read him saying we have to be really aggressive in every game now. He’s named THIS team.

Dan: So.. so.. so.. depressing! We have to see a wide forward (Michail Antonio) up front on his own. Can’t wait to waste 90 minutes of my life later.

Deovrat: Jose Mourinho really wants a royal thrashing from Tottenham tonight. Why else would he challenge Son and Kane like that. Grinning face with smiling eyes. And If Kane scores a hat-trick, watch out for Jose Mourinho in press conference.

That’s the spirit, Dan. You’ve beaten me to it, Deovrat. We’re about to discuss THAT interview.

Team news

Jose Mourinho makes three changes from the side who drew 0-0 with Manchester United. Still getting over Jon Moss’ second penalty decision. Horrendous.

Anyway, Dele Alli, Giovani Lo Celso and Lucas Moura come in for Harry Winks, Steven Bergwijn and Erik Lamela.

West Ham make two changes from their 2-0 defeat on Saturday.

Ryan Fredericks replaces Jeremy Ngakia at right-back and Fabian Balbuena is in for Felipe Anderson.

So… that’s Michail Antonio as a centre-forward?

The starting XI

Team news and line ups arrive at exactly 7.18pm (sorry I was eating a burrito). Jose Mourinho welcomes back Dele Alli and West Ham make two changes from the Wolves defeat.

Subs: Gazzaniga, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Winks, Lamela, Sessegnon, Bergwijn, Ndombele, Fernandes.

Subs: Randolph, Yarmolenko, Anderson, Lanzini, Wilshere, Ogbonna, Ajeti, Silva, Johnson.

That’s what I do, I win…

Ah Davy. Davy, Davy Moyes. How the West Ham boss must wish he didn’t say ‘That’s what I do, I win…’ when he replaced Manuel Pellegrini in December.

Why? Well because it’s not panning out that way for the Hammers boss.

13 games, three wins, two draws and eight defeats since he took the reins for the second spell. That’s a win percentage of 23.08%.

West Ham are currently in 17th position with only +3 goal difference separating them from Bournemouth the relegation zone.

The Scottish tactician will have to put his money where his mouth is and guide the Hammers up the table and he’s got eight fixtures left to do it.

Evening all,

Alright folks, how are you doing?

Welcome to our LIVE coverage of Tottenham vs West Ham as this Premier League binge continues.

It’s been a pretty pleasant day, right? Beautiful sun, warm breeze, top-flight football on the box AND the confirmation that pubs will re-open on July 4.

Thrilled to be able to pay exorbitant mark-ups for Gin and queue up for toilets again. Finally.

Anyway, we can talk about the pubs later but first we need to focus on an extremely important London derby at both ends of the table.

Tottenham need to start gaining some wins and momentum if they’re to somehow secure Champions League football, while West Ham are flirting with the relegation zone.

Plenty at stake, so let’s get going!
