Torque Partners With Blake Broadcasting to Distribute Content

Torque Esports’ UMG Gaming entertainment platform is set to distribute esports event content to a global audience as part of a new syndication agreement with Blake Broadcasting. The deal will see UMG’s range of live-streamed esports events and competitions shown globally on Blake networks in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Blake Broadcasting distributes content around the world through satellite, OTA (over the air) and OTT (over the top online).

“The rapid shift of interest in our existing simulator racing and competitive gaming content has been overwhelming. We had already been talking with Blake Broadcasting, so it seemed fitting to expand that deal to all of Torque & UMG Content.”

UMG has generated more than 1.2B page views, 25M video views, and has paid out more than $3M USD in prize money during its esports and gaming events.

As the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic forces many people around the world to stay in their homes and continue with practicing social distancing, esports content has become a large source of entertainment, even in the traditional sports world.

ESPN2 network hosted a 12-hour esports programming block on Sunday, April 5, called “ESPN Esports Day” that showcased multiple tournaments and events in popular games such as Rocket League and Fortnite.

Fox Sports will air the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series in its entirety after an audience of over 1.3M tuned-in to watch the Texas Motor Speedway round of the series on March 29.
