We all love Too Faced for their high performance, playful and pigment-packed makeup, and beauty buffs have long obsessed over the sensation that is Better Than Sex Mascara. But alongside the launch of a brand new mascara last week (*screams*), Too Faced has some even bigger secrets to share – skincare secrets.
Yes, that’s right, the beloved beauty brand is branching out into skincare, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. The brand new Hangover Skincare Collection consists of three products, Good To Go Daily Moisturiser, Good In Bed Hydrating Serum and a Replenishing Primer. GLAMOUR caught up with Elyse Reneau, global pro artist and face of artistry, to get an exclusive preview into the new products…
What sparked the decision to delve into skin?
According to Elyse, Too Faced founder Jerrod has always been incredibly passionate about skincare; “Jerrod has been passionate about skin protection since his sister, Lisa, was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma years ago ( she beat it, yay!),” she says.
“We were also getting a lot of feedback from our customers on our Hangover Primer as they were using it as their daytime moisturiser due to its hydrating benefits. So we wanted to give our girl what she was craving- deep hydration and protection without a greasy feel, that works perfectly with her makeup.”
What does your skincare regime look like at the moment?
“I am absolutely obsessed with skincare!” admits the makeup guru. “I actually worked for a plastic surgeon for a few years as a medical esthetician in my early twenties, and I have been hooked on good products ever since. I wear a lot of long wear makeup so it’s really important at the end of the day to have something that really removes all traces of makeup, which is I why cleanser is super important to me. I have been following up with Hangover Good In Bed serum (which makes my skin feel so hydrated and plump!), a good moisturiser, eye cream and lip balm. I can’t sleep without lip balm!”
Good In Bed Serum contains an impressive roster of skincare ingredients including vitamin B5, yogurt probiotics, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidant-rich exotic dragon fruit, all working together to improve skin texture and hydration levels instantly. Which product do you think will be the ‘Better Than Sex’ mascara of your skincare range?
“Honestly, I LOVE Good to Go,” she says. Alongside lightweight moisture, Hangover Good to Go protects from harmful UVA/UVB rays with broad-spectrum SPF 25 protection.
“It is the most lightweight sunscreen I ever used! It doesn’t leave an ashy cast, or feel greasy and it leaves my skin with a beautiful glow. I wear it alone on the weekends and people ask me what is on my skin all the time and are shocked when I just say moisturiser.”
What’s going to set your skincare apart from other brands on the market?
“I think our skincare is so accessible, easy to use and good for all skin types. It’s a no brainer for anyone who wants instant hydration and protection from the elements,” says Elyse. “Also you’ll never get that weird rolling under your foundation that sometimes happens.
