Boxing legend Tony Bellew believes Liverpool will win the Champions League final – despite being a huge Evertonian.
The Toffees fan, who won his first world title at Goodison Park, reckons their local rivals will see off a “half-fit” Spurs in Madrid this weekend to lift their sixth European crown.
But he insists they did not deserve to win the Premier League title – even after a remarkable 97 point haul – after fallen just short of record-breaking Manchester City .
Outspoken Bellew, who retired from boxing last year, admits he cannot help but admire manager Jurgen Klopp and centre-back Virgil van Dijk for their excellence.
Yet he’s desperate for the pair to depart Anfield sooner rather than later given the performances they have delivered on the other side of the city.

“Listen, whoever wins the league after 38 games deserves to win the league,” said Bellew, speaking as a guest of the SportPesa Racing Point F1 team at last weekend’s race in Monaco.
“I wouldn’t say I’m a bitter Evertonian by any stretch of the imagination, but it is what it is.
“They missed out very narrowly, and I don’t want to hear, ‘we’re the team to ever get 97 points and not win the league’.
“Listen, facts be known, you could have got 97 points last season and you still wouldn’t have won the league. Let’s just be real here for a minute.

“They lost the league, they’re probably going to win the Champions League final against a half-fit Tottenham , so we’ll just see how it goes.
“They’re a fantastic team. They’ve got an amazing manager and they’ve got the best centre-back in the world. That’s all I could give them, I can’t give them any more than that.
“The sooner that centre-back leaves and that manager leaves the better in my opinion.”
