Tommy Fury reacts to Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder weighing in for rematch

Tommy Fury says Tyson Fury feels like he’s fighting at home after a boisterous weigh-in on the eve of his rematch with Deontay Wilder.

The WBC champion was booed by the crowd through-out the weigh-ins, while Fury was given a hero’s welcome by the thousands packed into the MGM Grand Arena.

Fury has made Las Vegas his base since his controversial draw with Wilder in 2018 and both men sported much heavier physiques on Friday afternoon.

Wilder weighed in at a career-high 231lbs, while Fury was three stone heavier than his rival at 273lbs.

Tommy, who is in Vegas to support his brother, spoke to Metro.co.uk after the weigh-in, and was pleased to see the support for Fury.

‘I didn’t hear one Wilder chant, I think that was the most important,’ he said. ‘It’s like Tyson is fighting in England, it’s no different.’

Fury is planning to knock Wilder out in the rematch and appears to have put on the extra pounds with that game plan in mind.

Tommy insisted despite coming in heavier, Fury was at his ideal weight.

‘[It means] nothing really,’ Tommy said. ‘He either comes super light or super heavy. Doesn’t matter, Tyson is going to get the win and that’s it.’

He added: ‘Tyson does his best work around 18st 10lbs, 18st 12lbs.’

Fight fans are struggling to pick a winner from the heavyweight contest with the likes of Anthony Joshua and Mike Tyson backing Fury to come out victorious.

Tommy is convinced his brother is on course to produce a stunning performance against Wilder and assured fans Fury would make good on his vow to stop the American.
