Tommy Fury, 20, is on a quest to find love in the new series of the ITV show Love Island 2019, but the boxing hunk has been slammed by Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan, 54, for his lack of culinary skills. During the show last night, the boxer, admitted he can’t cook and struggles with basic tasks like making hot drinks. Piers took the opportunity to discuss the Love Island star’s antics on Good Morning Britain, where he dubbed him a “halfwit”. The presenter said: “Have we got the clip with the tea making?
“I love Tyson Fury but honestly this is his half-brother… Halfwit… He literally can’t make a cup of tea.”
The short clip showed Sherif Lanre, 20, explaining to Tommy how to go about making a cup of tea.
But it appeared Piers’ rant did not stop there after he took aim at social media influencer Molly-Mae, 19, who Tommy is coupled up with on Love Island.
He said: “She does Instagram ‘I do social and now I do Instagram’. Her career is: ‘I do social’.
“I was in the gym, I was a little gym bunny but now I do social.”
Meanwhile, Tommy recently opened up about his dating life which has not always gone to plan, as he spilled on an awkward date.
The Love Island star revealed the date with a previous love interest ended swiftly after she “didn’t say a word”.
Explaining all, he said: “About a year and a half ago I was texting this girl for about a week.
“She came across really nice on text, everything you’d look for and then I met her in person and she did not say one word. I’m a chatty guy so it was like talking to a brick wall,” he added.
Reflecting on how his date ended, he continued: “After ten minutes I said I had to go to the toilet and then I came back and said my mum had called me and I had to leave and asked what time her train home was.
“She wasn’t too happy but at the end of the day I can’t do anything with that. I legged it!”
Elsewhere, ahead of his arrival into the villa, the boxer told OK! magazine he has been single for eight to 10 months, but his ex-girlfriend Millie Roberts refuted those claims.
Taking to Instagram, his former flame suggested the pair were still a couple in February this year.
Sharing a snap of the two of them together, she said: “Didn’t realise February to March was eight-10 months ago?
“I know your not the best at maths but this is no excuse. It’s mad what fame and money can do to people, try and act like the whole relationship was nothing. But okay Tommy, you do you.”(sic)
Tommy had told the publication: “I’ve been single now for about eight-10 months. But like I say, it was my first relationship.
“We all have first girlfriends.”
