A statement released by Toms agent stated: “Sir Tom Jones’ wife of 59 years, Lady Melinda Rose Woodward, passed away Sunday morning, April 10, after a short but fierce battle with cancer.
“Surrounded by her husband and loved ones, she passed away peacefully at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.”
Tom and Linda met at school when he was just 12 years old and started dating when they were 15.
In his autobiography, Over The Top and Back, Tom wrote fondly of how he would sometimes offer Linda a smile as she walked to school.
