Tom Jones wife: 'I've done NOTHING wrong' No regrets as Sir Tom admits hundreds of affairs

Sir Tom Jones has been a major player in British pop culture in a career spanning over six decades. The 78-year-old Welshman rose to fame as the frontman for Tommy Scott and the Senators, before making a name for himself as a solo artist. The Sex Bomb singer was awarded an OBE in 1999 and in 2006 was knighted the by Queen for services to music.

Sir Tom married his high school sweetheart Linda in 1957, when she was 16 and he was 18.

The couple had one son, Mark, who is now 62, after Linda got pregnant at just 15.

But while Tom and Lina stuck together as he rose to fame, he had another side to him, which saw him engage in numerous well-publicised affairs.

At the height of his fame, Sir Tom said he had sex with up to 250 fans a year.

In 2016, Sir Tom’s wife of 59 years, died after a short battle with cancer.

While the couple had stuck together through it all, their marriage was famously put through the wringer over the years.

Linda suffered crippling bouts of depression, and Tom confessed his philandering once leading to Linda assaulting him.

After reading about one infidelity in a newspaper, she punched and kicked Jones but he did not fight back, saying: “I took it.”

But in 2015, a year before Linda’s death, Tom wrote in Big Issue that he didn’t regret any of it.

He wrote: “The women, the sex… That’s all been talked about so much.

“But that’s not the essence of me, that’s not what makes me tick.

“‘It’s Not Unusual’ was a hit before anyone saw me. It was the power of the voice.

“The media always pick on the women, and how did that affect your wife. With everyone famous, not just me.

“They always bring sex into it. It’s part of life of course or we’d all die out.

“But what’s important is why are you different, what’s unique?

“I don’t regret anything. All in all, no matter what happened, my marriage is still solid and my son still loves me.

“I haven’t done anything bad in my life.”
