The news that Tom Holland might not be in the upcoming Spider-Man movies has hit us hard, to say the least.

But the man himself has been unfalteringly graceful about the franchise being out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to that feud with Sony.

Discussing the quarrel, the Avengers star said the ‘legacy and future’ of Spider-Man ‘rests in Sony’s safe hands’.

‘I’ve truly had the time of my life, and in so many respects, they have made my dreams come true as an actor,’ he told GQ Style on Tuesday.

‘Sony has also been really good to me, and the global success of Spider-Man: Far From Home is a real testament to their support, skill and commitment.’

He added: ‘The legacy and future of Spidey rests in Sony’s safe hands. I really am nothing but grateful, and I’ve made friends for life along the way.’

Oh please – we’re not crying, you’re crying.

The devastation kicked off after Sony refused to consider a 50/50 co-financing arrangement with Marvel on future Spidey films.
