Tom Holland reveals filming on Uncharted movie adaptation is underway



Tom Holland has shared a photo from the first day of filming of the movie adaptation of Uncharted.

The Spiderman actor, 24, will star as explorer and treasure hunter Nathan Drake in the film version of the game, which is set for release in 2021.

The hit PlayStation game follows Drake as he travels around the world solving mysteries and the movie will serve as a prequel, revealing Drake’s origin story.

The film will also star Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas.

Holland posted a picture on Instagram showing his personalised chair with the name “Nate” in bold red letters, captioning it: “Day one #uncharted.”


The Marvel actor previously revealed that filming for Uncharted had been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, which temporarily halted filming on many major productions around the world.

“I was in Berlin making a film called Uncharted with Mark Wahlberg and we were all ready to go, we went to set for day one shooting and then we got shut down and we all got sent home,” he explained while appearing on the Jimmy Kimmel show via videolink back in April.

“So whether we shoot that movie first or we shoot Spider-Man first I am unclear,” he added.

The Uncharted movie had already been subject to delays, with its release pushed back numerous times as new writers and directors joined the project.

The first Uncharted game was released in in 2007 and followed by three sequels.

With over 41 million copies sold worldwide, the series is one of the most successful video game franchises of all-time.
