Tom Ford Has Been Inducted Into The Fragrance Hall Of Fame

Neroli Portofino or Black Orchid? Soleil Blanc or Jasmin Rouge? We all have our favourite Tom Ford fragrances and, now, the man himself is being honoured for his contributions to the world of scent.

The Fragrance Foundation announced that, in June, Ford will be inducted into their Fragrance Hall of Fame, alongside other industry greats like Estée Lauder, Carolina Herrera and Marc Jacobs.

Since launching Tom Ford Beauty with his first scent, Black Orchid, in 2006, Ford has brought out hit after hit when it comes to fragrance. A cursory glance around the Vogue beauty desks at any given time will yield several of his iconic Private Blend bottles – Mandarino di Amalfi in summer, Tobacco Vanille in winter, perhaps.

“Scent, in its many iterations, is something that I have always had a strong passion for, and to be recognised for my work in this industry by the prestigious Fragrance Foundation, is a true honour,” said Ford in a statement.

Of course, Tom Ford’s successes extend beyond just the realm of beauty. As a designer, both at Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and his own eponymous brand, he’s created some of the most coveted and iconic collections ever. Likewise, he’s been decorated for this cinematic efforts as director of A Single Man and Nocturnal Animals.
