When he’s not been busy filming movies, Tom Cruise has been making sure to enjoy some downtime, as he was seen out and about in London.

The actor looked cheerful as he was pictured leaving the Novikov restaurant in Mayfair, London, as he flashed a smile for the camera, and the movie star looked all the more dapper wearing a smart blue shirt and pair of jeans with black shoes.

Tom is currently taking a well-deserved break, and he was recently seen manoeuvring a paraglider in the French Alps, pictured up in the air while navigating the paraglider, all while sporting an all-black outfit.

The 57-year-old also recently wrapped up filming for the highly anticipated sequel to Top Gun, titled Top Gun: Maverick.

The sequel, which takes place 34 years after the events of the original film, concerns Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell (Tom) having to face Rooster Bradshaw (Miles Tenner), the son of his late best friend RIO Goose Bradshaw, who aspires to become an aviator just like his father does.

Alongside Tom, Val Kilmer will also be reprising his role Commander Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky from the original film, with Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm and Glen Powell also set to star.

Joseph Kosinski has directed the upcoming motion picture, which is scheduled for release in June 2020.

Tom was on hand to drop the film’s trailer when the film’s cast appeared at San Diego Comic Con back in July, saying that he felt it was his ‘responsibility’ to deliver a long-awaited sequel to the 1986 classic.

‘Top Gun is about family, about sacrifice, and it’s about aviation. 34 years ago I made a movie in San Diego, right here. I actually shot across the street in a restaurant,’ he said.

‘You all have asked for many, many years and I’ve travelled across the world and people have asked “when are you going to do another one?” I felt it was my responsibility to finally deliver for you.’
