The video was shared by Instagram user Gnarstypoepole, who tagged account Passenger Shaming.

In the short video, posted on his stories, the bare feet rest on the armrest in front.

The man’s big toe is hooked onto the metal in front, resulting in his splayed toes spreading across the back of the chair.

Alongside the video was the caption: “Update: he’s rubbing them EVERYWHERE.”

The man’s other bare foot was resting on the floor, which he tapped against the seat as well.

“Imagine destroying your bare feet as your run down the aisle covered with broken glass, fires and metal shards.”

The best advice for going barefoot on a plane? Using the free hotel slippers during a flight instead, to offer some protection.

People putting bare feet on the seat pockets or the seats themselves could also be causing damage to planes.

One passenger was spotted using his bare feet to swipe across the inflight entertainment system.
