Toddler accidentally bought a £340 sofa on Amazon while playing with her mum’s phone

A MUM has been left with a £340 sofa after her two-year-old accidentally ordered it from Amazon.

Isabella McNeil was “shocked” when she got a notification saying her sofa was being shipped out.

With no memory of ordering the £339 ($430) grey three-seater couch from Amazon, she wondered if she had “ordered it in her sleep”.

But the mum-of-two, from San Diego, soon realised the culprit was her two-year-old daughter, Rayna.

Isabella, who had been browsing sofas on her phone, handed the device to her daughter to play with after she demanded it.

Little did she know Rayna ended up ordering the pricey sofa using Amazon’s ‘buy it now with one click’ button.

She said: “She grabbed my phone like she usually does to play with it and the Amazon app was still open and she hit the buy now with 1 click button on accident.

“I didn’t realize it until I got a notification saying your couch has shipped [at] which point I couldn’t cancel in time.”

By the time Isabella realised her mistake, it was too late to send it back and a huge box turned up at her front door.

After realising it would cost her £141 ($179) to send it back, Isabella decided to sell it instead.

Posting on Facebook, she said: “So Rayna ordered a couch on Amazon and I need to sell it today!

“I’m not able to sell it.

“The return fee is going to cost me 179 bucks in shipping and restocking fee.

“So I wanna try and recoup as much as possible.”

She listed an ad on Offerup.com, saying it was “ordered by mistake, my toddler actually did.

“Darn buy with one click on Amazon.

“Anyway it’s more of a hassle to ship back, so I’ll take a loss.”

Now stuck trying to sell the couch, Isabella had a word of warning for other parents.

Chatting on camera, she said: “I just think parents need to be more aware, that when you’re giving your kids a phone, make sure all the apps are closed make sure the passwords are fingerprint locked.

“Make sure they don’t know your number password, because kids are a lot smarter than we think.”

And she learned her lesson about letting Ryan play with her phone, admitting the tot had expensive taste in furniture.

She told NBC: “Sometimes, when you’re a mom and you’re just in that desperation and you just kind of want them to settle down, the first thing you go to is, ‘Here, play with my phone for a little bit’.

“It’s not worth $179 to just let her play with my phone. Now I’m going to be a lot more aware of my Amazon app.”

Meanwhile this mum-to-be’s gender reveal manicure was cruelly called ‘mouldy’.
