Today’s back pages: seven and hell for humiliated Tottenham

Champions League group B
Tottenham Hotspur 2 Bayern Munich 7

“Humiliation”. That’s the one-word headline The Daily Telegraph uses to describe Tottenham’s 7-2 Champions League hammering by Bayern Munich last night.

The Daily Mirror and Daily Star say it was “seven and hell” for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who were blown away by the German giants.

Star of the show for Bayern was Serge Gnabry, who scored four of his side’s seven goals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Last season’s finalists Spurs were shocked by the “power Serge”, Metro says, after the former Arsenal winger made a triumphant return to north London.

After two games in group B Bayern are top with six points, Red Star Belgrade are second with three points while Spurs and Olympiakos both have one point.

The 7-2 defeat comes exactly a week after Premier League Spurs were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on penalties by League Two outfit Colchester United.
