Today’s back pages: ‘Inch perfect’ for Man City, ‘De Gea disaster’ for Man Utd

The Premier League title race between Manchester City and Liverpool could be decided by the finest of margins – 29.51mm to be exact.

That’s how much the ball was over the line as Sergio Aguero’s shot gave Man City a 1-0 win at Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday.

The result was “inch perfect” for City says the Daily Express and Daily Star back pages with Pep Guardiola’s side now one point clear of Liverpool with two matches remaining in the Premier League season.

While Man City were celebrating yet another win, there was more despair for rivals Manchester United and goalkeeper David de Gea.

The Spaniard was at fault for Chelsea’s goal in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Old Trafford and a number of newspapers are focusing on the result that leaves United sixth in the table.

It was a “De Gea disaster” says i Sport’s back page after yet another howler from the keeper.

The Times reports that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning talks with his No.1 but the Old Trafford chief has backed his stopper, says The Guardian, and insists De Gea is “not the reason we are sixth”.
