Today’s back pages: David Luiz and Wilfried Zaha want out on deadline day

Metro reports that David Luiz and Wilfried Zaha are trying to force exits ahead of today’s Premier League transfer deadline.

Chelsea defender Luiz trained away from the first-team yesterday with news emerging that he wants to make a shock move to London rivals Arsenal.

Brazilian Luiz is “Gunning for the exit”, says the Daily Express, and Chelsea are poised to agree to the sensational sale following a series of explosive rows.

BBC Sport reports this morning that Chelsea and Arsenal have agreed an £8m fee for Luiz. The defender will sign a two-year deal and have a medical today.

Meanwhile, Zaha has handed in a transfer request to Crystal Palace. The Ivory Coast forward is wanted by Everton, who have seen bids rejected during the summer window.

The Daily Mail says Palace are concerned Zaha will perform a deadline-day no-show as he tries to force a move to Goodison Park.

Premier League and EFL Championship clubs have until today’s 5pm deadline to buy players. They can continue selling players to teams whose league transfer window remains open.

Transfer deadline day times and dates: Premier League, Championship, EFL, Scotland, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga
