Tilda Swinton and daughter Honor wear coordinating all-black looks at The Souvenir screening


Tilda Swinton and her daughter Honor wore coordinating black ensembles at a special screening for their new film The Souvenir.

The 58-year-old actress and her 21-year-old daughter were spotted at the New York event, ahead of the film’s May 17 release date.

Also spotted at the event were director Joanna Hogg, filmmaker Julian Schnabel, Louise Kugelberg and Michael Stipe.

Tilda was wearing a black buttoned-up jacked with a gold stripe along the bottom hem, with black pants and black pointed-toe shoes.

Her daughter Honor was also in black, but she opted for a black sleeveless dress that fell to her calves, with pointed-toe heels.

Both mother and daughter were spotted together just a day earlier, at another special screening of The Souvenir at the Lincoln Film Center.

The younger Swinton, Honor, plays the lead role in The Souvenir, a young film student named Julie, who becomes romantically involved with Anthony (Tom Burke) who is not to be trusted.

Tilda also stars as Rosalind in the film, which marks Honor’s first film role since 2009’s I Am Love, where she also starred alongside her mother.

The Souvenir debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January, where it won the Grand Jury Prize in the World Cinema – Dramatic category.

The film was picked up for distribution shortly after its Sundance premiere, with A24  and Curzon Artificial Eye picking up U.S. and U.K. distribution rights, respectively.

A24 set a domestic limited release on May 17, going up against wide release movies such as John Wick 3: Parabellum, A Dog’s Journey and The Sun Is Also a Star.

Curzon Artificial Eye has set the U.K. release for August 30, with the film already getting an impressive 90% ‘Fresh’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Swinton is also coming off a brief appearance in the blockbuster Avengers: Endgame, reprising her role from 2016’s Doctor Strange as the Sorcerer Supreme.

She also stars in indie filmmaker Jim Jarmusch’s new zombie film The Dead Don’t Die, with Adam Driver, Bill Murray and Austin Butler, to name a few, in theaters June 14.

The actress also stars in The Personal History of David Copperfield, from Veep creator Armando Iannucci, which doesn’t have a domestic release date yet.
