No matter what’s going on in the world, you can be sure that the internet will be making jokes about it – and coronavirus is no different.

Despite many fearing the worst, some TikTok stars have gone completely rogue, making viral videos and taking on challenges all relating to the virus. And we’re not entirely sure what to make of it.

At least it’s creative?

TikTokers have been adapting some of the most popular trends on the platform – and they were already pretty weird to begin with, so prepare for a wild ride.

One unusual trend is adapted from the ‘famous relative check’, with a voiceover saying ‘coronavirus check’, and people using the sound to show off their preparations for if the virus hits nears them.

And then there are the songs. One is a parody of the Macarena, which features lyrics about quarantine, while another is simply called ‘It’s Corona Time’.

There are also a few individual videos that stick in the mind.

@ktfranklinFun fact flu masks are sold out in most stores online / irl … kinda stressed ##uk ##fyp ##coronavirus ##virus ##waitress♬ Originalton – itzz.marcel

@arthurhutchingsNothing wrong with a couple rona’s ##fyp ##foryoupage ##foryou ##coronavirus♬ Ohhhh its low – funnyfifa4

KT Franklin, who boasts a following of almost two million on the platform, jumped on the viral trend which sees TikTok users lip sync the Rihanna lyrics ‘Funny you’re the broken one but I’m the only one who needed saving.’

She re-enacts a situation which shows her boss telling her she can’t wear a mask and gloves at work to avoid coronavirus.

TikTok user ArthurHutchings, meanwhile, used Alexander Armstrong’s voice from Pointless to illustrate how he expects the human population to dwindle. It’s cheery stuff!

He’s shown pointing at decreasing numbers, which start at seven billion and go right down to one person.

As it heads into the 100,000 mark, Alexander is heard saying: ‘Ooh, it’s low. Wow, look at that!’

Meanwhile, there are plenty of jokes surrounding Brexit, with people pointing out: ‘Coronavirus is in Europe but it’s okay because we’re not in Europe anymore.’

At least everyone’s seeing the bright side, right? And that’s not even to mention the influencers who are giving us makeup looks to wear with masks.

That’s not to say that everyone on TikTok is just joking about the virus. There are tons of videos with genuinely good advice and some trying to calm the panic.

But, with the #Coronavirus tag racking up a massive 1.7 billion views on the platform, it seems it’s all anyone can talk about.
