TikTok Signs Former LATAM PUBG Corp BizDev to Develop Gaming Segment

Guilherme Barbosa, a former head executive for the Brazilian esports development companies Bad Boy Leeroy (BBL) and nøline, has left his role as Regional Business Developer for LATAM in PUBG Corp to join TikTok. He will be responsible for developing the gaming vertical on the platform and also representing the company in the region as TikTok’s leader of gaming partnerships in Latin America.

Barbosa spoke to The Esports Observer regarding the move to his new company and how it will face gaming and esports content creators from now: “Games and electronic sports are in the spotlight and all the market’s attention is now turned to this very special demographic. I am happy and excited to be joining the growing community of TikTok, the premier destination for short-form videos, and to be able to help content creators and gamers get to know and engage with our TikTok gaming vertical. Soon, we will be able to talk about the new interesting and challenging projects that we will build.”

The hiring of a professional known for his path in esports for the gaming segment might be showing the interest of TikTok in approaching the language of the competitive environment in its content. To date, there is no confirmation by PUBG Corp about the role left by Barbosa in the company.
