Tiger Woods hit a four-under 68 to finish one shot behind five halfway leaders on day two of the Masters in Augusta.

The 43-year-old is one shot back from five major winners in Francesco Molinari, Jason Day, Adam Scott, Louis Oosthuizen and Brooks Koepka

Woods, bidding to win his fifth Masters and first major since 2008, survived a bizarre incident on the 14th when a security official slipped and caught the American’s ankle on his fall.

Thankfully Woods came through unscathed and he showed no lingering signs of an injury when he birdied moments later.

Woods saw the funny side of the incident and acknowledged that accidents were bound to happen on a rain-hit day two in Georgia.

‘Accidents happen,’ said Woods. ‘

‘We move on. I’m good.

‘Apart from having four knee surgeries and three back surgeries, I’m great.’

‘It was fun. I felt like I left a few shots out there but overall it was a solid day, I hung in there and just kept grinding and tried to make a birdie here and there where I could.’

Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy was relieved to make the cut after carding a 71 that left him level par at the halfway stage.

Ian Poulter is leading the charge for the Brits at Augusta with the Englishman sitting two off the pace on five-under.

Two-time runner up Justin Rose failed to make the cut, finishing four-over after hitting a 73.
