Tiger King’s Joe Exotic has said he’s ‘done’ with the drama surrounding animal rights activist Carole Baskin despite currently serving a 22-year sentence for her murder-for-hire.

The former big cat zoo keeper – whose real name is Joseph Maldanado-Passage – was the main star of the now-viral Netflix documentary, which ended with him behind bars on various accounts of animal abuse and the murder-for-hire of Carole, who ran rival business Big Cat Sanctuary.

Now, in a new interview following the success of the series, Joe has spoken out against his old foe, declaring their feud officially over. Like we said, he’s currently serving a jail sentence after being found guilty of trying to kill her.

‘I’m done with the Carole Baskin saga,’ he told Netflix from his jail cell.

‘It’s now time to turn the tables and Joe get out of jail a free man and exonerated from all these charges.’

It was recently announced that Joe had been hospitalised for contracting coronavirus whilst serving his sentence in federal facility FMC Fort Worth prison in Texas.

His partner Dillon Passage had told Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM Radio Andy show on Wednesday: ‘We speak like three to five times every day, but since he’s been moved to this new facility, they are putting him on a COVID-19 isolation because of the previous jail he was at, there were cases. I’ve yet to speak to him since he moved.’

Joe also recently revealed his intentions to seek a $94 million settlement and a presidential pardon from Donald Trump over his jail term.

Sharing the legal documents on his Facebook page, the reality star revealed he is suing the US Federal Wildlife Service and the US Department of Interior, for $78.84million (£66m).

As well as this, he is also seeking $15million (£12m) from former business partner Jeff Lowe and another colleague.

Carole Baskin also has a message for all the cool cats and kittens out there too who followed her journey on the documentary.

She has hit out at the series, accusing the seven-part show of being ‘salacious and sensational’ just to draw viewers – after the mysterious disappearance of her ex-husband was discussed.

‘Don was not easy to live with and like most couples we had our moments,’ she began a lengthy message on the Big Cat Rescue website.

‘But I never threatened him and I certainly had nothing to do with his disappearance.’

Tiger King is available to stream now via Netflix.
