New York, London, Milan and Paris… as fashion month comes to a close and runway trends are addressed and assessed, talk often turns to the outfits sitting front row.

And while each city has very clear differences in terms of street style aesthetic – think cool minimalist in New York, creative flair in London, indulgent and sexy in Milan and fussier details in Paris – there is occasionally a certain piece that transcends all unofficial rules.

This season – entirely unsurprisingly for those with their finger even remotely near the sartorial pulse – that piece was the Bottega pouch.

Tucked under the arm of just about every major influencer attending shows over the last few weeks, the puffy, cloud-like clutch bag by Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta – who is currently experiencing huge global acclaim thanks to new Creative Director Daniel Lee.

Here’s a brief mood board of our favourite Fashion Week pouch moments for reference…

Available right now in a smorgasbord of delicious hues – from mustard to mist, deep blue to ‘nero’ – the oversized clutch is made from butter-soft calf leather that folds and billows into its instantly recognisable squashy shape.

But the fashion set aren’t silly. Bursting with versatility, this bag can be worn in the crook of a suited arm, at the fingertips of a whimsical dresser, or alongside everything from jeans to joggers. There is quite literally no look it fails to serve. It even now comes in a mini version which, shock horror, we’re also very into. Daniel Lee, we bow down.

Sold? We truly are… The only slight glitch being the pouch’s £1,990 price tag. But what’s money when you’ve got the world’s chicest bag that doubles up as a pillow on long haul flights? We know you feel that.

No pressure, but if we were you… Buy It Now
