This video of a woman trying on her wedding dress 50 years later is going viral on TikTok, and it's SO heartwarming

A video of a woman surprising her husband on their 50th wedding anniversary is going viral on social media, and it’s the most joyous thing we’ve seen all week.

TikTok user @thekatykat posted the series of four clips, in which her grandma is seen wearing her wedding dress from 50 years ago ready to surprise her husband, who is sitting in the next room, on their 50th anniversary.

“It still fits!” she exclaims in surprise as she tries on her wedding dress (get it, grandma!) as she puts on makeup, earrings, heels and a bridal veil.

As her daughter helps her put on her wedding shoes, she says: “It’s been a long time since I wore these shoes… And look, the shoe fits! I get to marry the prince all over again”.

As the woman walks in to the living room to surprise her husband, he is seen grinning from ear to ear with tears in his eyes before the couple embrace, and wish each other a happy anniversary as Nat King Cole’s ‘Unforgettable’ plays over the clip.

We’re not crying, you’re crying. Okay just kidding, we’re 100% crying too.

Watch the four-part video below and weep in life-affirming joy…

HIS FACE AT THE END! 😭

“Aww he took his reading glasses off to get a good look at her, that’s true love right there if you ask me,” wrote one TikTok user.

“This is precious I’m bawling,” commented another, while another said: “The love for each other is incredible and they are unforgettable too. Happy anniversary to you both.”

Although we think one TikToker summarised the heartwarming video best when they wrote: “so this is what they mean in those old Disney movies when they say the prince and princess lived ‘happily ever after’.”

Thank you to @thekatykat for posting the adorable videos and bringing some joy to our day. Time to share far and wide and spread the love.
