When a trip to the supermarket becomes as important an event in our diaries as a landmark birthday, our outfit choices are taking on a bit more significance. Our wardrobe is ready for some fun again and even if we can travel no further than the park, it’s still nice to treat ourselves to a dreamy summer dress.

& Other Stories has come to the rescue with a limited edition collection of ten playful pieces that are ideal for WFH right now – and for your future super-social self. As well as being perfectly aesthetic, they also feature considerate materials, making them a guilt-free buy during lockdown.

The seven beautiful dresses are made from raw silk, organic cotton (which uses far less water than conventional cotton production) and Lyocell (a fibre made from sustainable wood pulp in a closed loop system – so no chemicals leak out.) The three shoe styles include a chunky suede platform and Nineties-style two strap mule along with an on-trend strappy white or beige sandal made from Vegea – a vegan leather alternative made from wine-making byproducts.

We love the consideration for the planet in the collection’s choice of sustainable fabricsbut they are also particularly tactile and textured, making the items feel like love-worn, pre-softened heirlooms. There is also a super-cute printed silk co-ord short set that is ideal for lounging at home and splitting up when it’s time to reenter society. The shorts look perfect with a cute V neck cardigan while the camisole is the sweetest foil to a pair of beaten up blue jeans.

Ticking all the boxes of our favourite trends with puff sleeves and drop-waist silhouettes the details are what make them special. Hand embroidered collars, gathered pleats and silk covered buttons elevate everything from high street to high end and we bet we won’t be the only ones to think so. Snap them up before we do…
