This Morning’s resident medic Dr. Zoe Williams has revealed that she’s made the decision to self-isolate after experiencing coronavrius symptoms.

The 39-year-old NHS GP, who is pregnant, decided to make her appearance on the ITV show via Skype, even though producers had offered her use of a separate room at the London studios.

Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, she said of her symptoms: ‘It started with a headache and over the next 2-3 hours I started to feel quite unwell. I got myself home, slept for 20 hours. I felt rough, but I’ve had worse.’

Revealing that she didn’t take a test to confirm whether she’d contracted the virus, Dr. Zoe admitted: ‘I never felt like I was gonna need the NHS services. Forty-eight hours later I’ve come out the other end, I kind of feel like I’ve got a cold now.’

Staying optimistic about her prognosis, she said: ‘I’m young and healthy I very rarely get sick I very rarely get unwell. So my experience of this illness, don’t get me wrong it’s knocked me off my feet for a couple of days, but it’s not the end of the world.’

And while Dr. Zoe feels as though she’s emerged from the ordeal relatively unscathed, she expressed frustration over not having been tested.

‘At the moment that is quite frustrating for me that I haven’t been tested. I think I’ve had it, but it would be great for me to know I’ve had the virus and can go back and see people who haven’t had it yet. I think testing for NHS staff is imperative.

‘When it comes to healthcare professionals it’s crucial, but I know the government are working really hard.’

Dr. Zoe’s appearance on the show comes a day after she waded into the row between Caprice Bourret and fellow medic Dr. Sarah Jarvis, following the pair’s showdown on
