“We eat animals hit by cars, my husband used to be a game keeper so we know what’s fresh.”

Holly, 38, questioned: “Aren’t you worried about how long it’s been there?”

Laura replied: “Well it’s usually been hit overnight so the sun hasn’t got on it yet.”

She revealed that herself and her family eat a range of roadkill, including deer, pheasant and rabbit.”

Laura even said they ate a pigeon once which had been electrocuted.

Making a quip, Phil exclaimed: “Oh, it had already been cooked then.”

Asked about feeding roadkill to her three-year-old son Wilfy, Laura said he’s “really happy” with it.

She also said she gets compliments on her cooking.

ITV viewers were sickened online though, with one Twitter user exclaiming: “This is vile.”

Another added: “Excuse me while I go and be sick.”

A third chimed in: “Cant be hygienic, surely they’d have no idea how it died?”

While a fourth blasted: “Come on, that’s gross.”

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10:30am.
