This Morning fans beg for Eamonn and Ruth to take over amid Phillip Schofield 'row'


This Morning ‘s Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford stepped in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield today as they have headed off for their Christmas holidays.

The Friday hosts clearly impressed today as viewers rushed to social media to beg for Ruth and Eamonn to become permanent hosts of the show, as they spoke to stars such as Bradley Walsh and John Barrowman.

One fan wrote: “Eamonn and Ruth presenting with Bradley on the sofa. Makes This Morning bearable for a change.”

Another added: “Thank god Eamonn and Ruth are back. I can’t stand the other two.”

A third chipped in: “What a delight to see Ruth and Eamonn presenting professionally instead of the two usual frivolous f***wits.”

This comes after reports that Ruth made an official complaint about Phillip after he interrupted her during the live link to Loose Women earlier this year.

According to The Sun, eight cast and crew members have stepped forward to voice concerns about Phillip’s “attitude” on set.

Tensions between Phil and Holly had reportedly increased due to his alleged fury over her winning a BAFTA for presenting on I’m A Celeb.

The publication claimed that Phillip told her not to celebrate the win on the show, something which he has denied.

He told Mail Online: “Holly is the sister I never had, we think at the same speed. It’s so organic… it’s a shame.

“Everyone who knows us, I mean, everyone at This Morning was like, ‘What the hell?’ The atmosphere in our studio is so wonderful, there’s such a lovely team. Everyone is lovely.”
