‘This Is Us’ reveals younger (and even cuter) Big 3, as hit drama’s timeline expands

The Big Three of “This Is Us” appears to be expanding, not in numbers but in eras.

Series creator Dan Fogelman tweeted a photo of three young children who appear to be the Pearson siblings at the center of the NBC hit drama – Kevin, Randall and Kate – at roughly 4 years old.

The photo zags after April’s Season 3 finale zigged, ending on a flash-forward far into the future with Big Three mom Rebecca (Mandy Moore) apparently on her deathbed.

The new Big Three is expected to arrive in Season 4 this fall. NBC has renewed “This Is Us,” which follows  the Pearsons at different stages of their lives, for three more seasons.

Other than episodes featuring the children, born the same day, as infants, the trio will be the fourth to portray the Big 3. Kevin, Kate and Randall are portrayed in their late 30s by Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz and Sterling K. Brown; in their late teens by Logan Shroyer, Hannah Zeile and Niles Fitch; and as 10-year-olds by Parker Bates, Mackenzie Hancsiscak and Lonnie Chavis.

Fogelman’s tweeted photo was accompanied by a simple comment: “I am dead. #ThisIsUs”. The show’s writing staff, which retweeted Fogelman, offered a little more detail in its comment: “We can’t wait for you guys to meet these cuties. #LittlestBigThree #ThisIsUs.”

Viewers will get that chances sometime in the upcoming season, which premieres Sept. 24.

The studio that produces the series, 20th Century Fox Television, declined comment on the tweets or the photo.
