This is the £3 salt spray that Love Island's Lucie Donlan uses to get those incredible beach waves

The first night of Love Island is always a belter isn’t it? The influx of semi-naked, toned, tanned islanders never fails to appeal to the nation’s fascination.

But among developing theories about which love match will last (five minutes in and ultra ripped gym owner, Anton, is already playing away), one very serious question emerged. How (dear Lord), does surfer-girl Lucie get her curls to play ball!?

Defying the humidity, the Cornish native was able to overcome Monica Geller-style static (happens to the best of us), and maintain her long bleach blonde curls (which she describes, along with her boobs, as her “best asset) in perfectly crimped kinks.

This year, VO5 was announced as Love Island’s first official hair sponsor, providing the contestants with every mist, spritz and paste they could possibly need to see them through the series, and they’ll be unveiling the products chosen by the islanders each episode.

Lucie’s weapon of choice? The positively tropical-smelling Texturising Sea Salt Spray.

A very shrewd option indeed thanks to its heat-free styling, which proffers up definition and separation with a light hold that’s not too crispy (v important). The result is low maintenance “messy waves” that don’t look too ‘done’. Elusive, yes, but thankfully, now achievable.
