This is how Meghan Markle reacted to THAT Beyonce and Jay-Z tribute to her

If there was one defining moment we’ll all remember from the 2019 BRIT Awards, it was undoubtedly Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s epic tribute to Meghan Markle.

When the couple were awarded Best International Group, they came through with a very special video message to thank their fans – complete with a regal portrait of the Duchess of Sussex by illustrator Tim O’Brien that had the internet going wild.

According to Meghan’s close friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin, we weren’t the only ones going crazy at the Duchess being in the frame.

In the CBS special Meghan and Harry Plus One, Martin revealed that he was actually the first on the scene to inform Meghan of her surprise cameo in the acceptance speech.

“I sent her a pic — I think it was a screengrab of the two of them in front of the portrait. I think all I wrote was, ‘Girl,'” Daniel explained to Gayle King. “She wrote me back like the big eye emoji.”

After the awards, Beyonce took to Instagram to give a little background info behind the iconic acceptance speech, which saw Meghan take the place of the Mona Lisa in a recreation of a scene from the couple’s “Apesh*t” music video.

“In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy,” she wrote in the shoutout.

Bey also took a moment to honour Meghan during Black History Month, where she wrote a heartfelt message on her personal website praising the Duchess’ philanthropic work.

“Meghan’s background as a film and TV actress has allowed her to use her platform for good. Meghan’s charitable work in communities of colour began years before becoming the Duchess of Sussex,” she wrote. “As a global ambassador for World Vision, she travelled to Rwanda to see how access to clean, safe water impacts children, an issue that is near and dear to our hearts…In honour of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas.”

Could Meghan be any more relatable?
