Congratulations are in order for Daisy May Cooper, who tied the knot with Will Weston on Saturday.

The actress, who co-writes and stars as Kerry Mucklowe in BBC Three sitcom This Country, celebrated her special day in the Cotswolds (of course), announcing the news on Instagram.

Wearing a stunning white lace dress (not a bin bag in sight!), Daisy shared a snap with her new husband and their one-year-old daughter to social media, writing: ‘I am now Mrs Weston! Had the most incredible time and am so lucky to have found my soul mate.’

She continued: ‘Off on the honeymoon tomorrow so I shall be switching off me phone and chilling out and reading Stephen King books by the pool.’

Earlier in the day, Daisy’s brother and This Country co-creator Charlie Cooper had been excitedly preparing for his sister’s big day, writing on Instagram alongside a picture of Steve Buscemi’s infamous toast from The Wedding Singer: ‘Today’s the day… the old girls gettin wed @daisymaycooper [sic].’

What we wouldn’t give to overhear the speeches at that wedding…

The winner of two BAFTAS, This Country is a mockumentary series based on Daisy and Charlie’s own experiences growing up in a West Country village near Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

Featuring many of the pair’s family and friends, the cast were recently left heartbroken after Daisy’s childhood friend and co-star Michael Sleggs tragically passed away in July.

Aged just 33, Michael sadly died after being placed on palliative care due to heart failure, and Daisy posted a heartbreaking tribute on the eve of her wedding day.

Sharing a series of photos of Michael, she told her Instagram followers: ‘It’s me wedding tomorrow and this one was going to be one of my bridesmaids in a white suit.

‘I miss you so much and I will miss you so bloody much tomorrow. Thank the lord for slugs x.’
