These are the UK’s most Instagrammed picnic spots

With restrictions eased in the UK, picnics with your pals are able to go ahead again.

Just in time for spring, lockdown restrictions were lifted earlier this week, allowing up to six people – from two different households – to meet up outside.

Meal kit subscription service HelloFresh recently conducted a survey that found searches for ‘best picnic spots near me’ has risen by 80% over the past week.

According to Instagram location tags, the most popular picnic spot in the UK on the social media site is Brighton Beach, with a whopping 840,000 picnic posts.

In addition to the seaside spot, other popular destinations include three prime London locations and plenty of picturesque places up north.

Here are the most Instagrammed picnic locations in the UK, in order of popularity.

Brighton Beach holds the top spot with over 840,000 posts.

2. Little Venice, London

Bask in glorious views of calm waters and colourful narrowboats – Little Venice is a popular picnic spot with 319,000 posts.

With more than 296,000 posts, the gorgeous clifftop views are the perfect picnic backdrop.

4. Hampstead Heath, London

5. Tynemouth Beach, Newcastle

One of the most popular stretches of sand for a picnic in the north east, Tynemouth Beach has racked up over 287,000 Instagram shots.

According to the 260,000 Instagram posts, Primrose Hill is perfect for a swoon-worthy snack.

7. Chatsworth House, Derbyshire

8. Lyndhurst, New Forest
