Foreign travel might be off the cards for the forseeable future, but a staycation in the UK doesn’t have to mean dreary skies and even drearier landscapes.

Remember though – you’re not allowed to go on holiday just yet, even in the UK. Day trips are allowed, but only if you’re able to maintain social distancing rules, and are able to travel there without using public transport.

Formby Beach, Liverpool

The backdrop of epic, rolling sand dunes that seem to go on forever make Formby Beach really special.

A highlight of the north west of England, Formby also boasts a forest with sweeping coastal pinewoods.

Durdle Door, Dorset

This gorgeous beach features a natural limestone arch on the Jurassic Coast near Lulworth in Dorset.
