The X Factor Celebrity: Simon Cowell may have just accidentally revealed Nicole Scherzinger’s Pussycat Dolls reunion live on air

Simon Cowell may have just accidentally confirmed that Nicole Scherzinger and the Pussycat Dolls have reunited…live on air on The X Factor: Celebrity.

The two judges were busy sniping each other over the performance of Love Island supergroup No Love Lost when the surprise revelation was made.

The Don’t Hold Your Breath hitmaker told the potential pop stars that something about the group wasn’t clicking for her, and Simon was not here for it, reminding Nicole that she was (and now potentially still is!) part of a pop group herself.

‘Nicole was in a band,’ Simon says. ‘She’s now back with the band…’

Not the time or place, Simon!! Don’t Cha know it was supposed to be a secret?!

Nicole, however, definitely wasn’t giving anything away and didn’t comment on Simon’s slip-up, but her face itself was a picture.

Imagine something half-way between a pout and a frown and that’s basically what it was.

It was previously reported that Nicole would be re-joining the Pussycat Dolls on The X Factor stage for their comeback performance, too, so maybe it won’t be long until the Dolls are back together?

The Pussycat Dolls were one of the most popular pop groups of the mid to late 00s and in many ways paved the way for the US success of other girlbands such as Fifth Harmony and, to a lesser extent, Little Mix in a post-Destiny’s Child world.

They also once had Lady Gaga and Rihanna as their opening acts for a UK tour… just saying.

They had a string of hits – including absolute bops Don’t Cha, Buttons and I Don’t Need A Man – before splitting in 2010 to make way for Nicole’s solo career.

That was a success too, she landed a UK number 1 single with Don’t Hold Your Breath and released two studio albums, which paved the way for her career as an X Factor judge.
