Despite its developer removing all references to it, the latest patch for The Witcher 3 on Switch is already out in at least one country.

Getting The Witcher 3 to work on the Nintendo Switch is one of the wonders of the modern age, but developer Saber Interactive seems to have made it even better than it was at launch.

Saber Interactive, who handled the port for CD Projekt, have been promising the patch for a while but when they removed references to it online it was feared that it may have been cancelled.

But fans in South Korea are reporting that it’s gone live for them and makes a significant difference, with a number of new graphics options and sharper visuals.

As discovered by fans on Reddit, the patch adds eight new graphic options that you can choose to turn on or off as you please:

  • Bloom
  • Sharpen
  • Depth of field
  • Depth of field for cut scenes
  • Chromatic aberration
  • Water quality
  • Foliage visibility range
  • Anti-aliasing

The more you switch on the worse the performance will get but the screenshots provided by Korean fans seems to make a major difference.

Of course, there is a small chance this is a fake, since the update isn’t available in the West yet, but if so someone has gone to a strange amount of effort just to upset Switch fans.

The other big addition for the update is cross-save support for Steam and GOG.com, which means that you can use the same game save with the PC version – allowing you to switch between the two whenever you want.

If and when the patch will be available in the UK isn’t clear but if it works then it should just be a matter of days, if not hours.
