The Walking Dead season 10 spoilers: Michonne to exit and find peace after Negan offer?

The Walking Dead is going to continue its brutal storytelling in the coming months with season ten.

Currently Michonne (played by Danai Gurira) is one of the few characters from the second series to remain alive and well in AMC’s post-apocalyptic world.

However it was announced last year Danai would be leaving the show in the upcoming tenth season.

After Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) was removed from the show by an inexplicable helicopter, Michonne has been struggling to stick around without him.

With her son in tow, Michonne now has more than ever to live for – and this same reason may also bring about her exit from the show.

In the show’s source material – the comic books of the same name – Michonne eventually makes her exit after Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) offers the warrior the head of Alpha (Samantha Morton).

Negan makes this grim gesture in an attempt to prove to Michonne they are on the same side – however the sight of her enemy’s decapitated head prompts Michonne to make an exit.

With a new start in mind, she sets off to find a new life in Ohio, with plans to build a new home.

If the show were to follow suit, it is likely Michonne would exit the situation surrounding Alexandria and Hilltop to protect her son.

Therefore, viewers may see the samurai leave for Ohio to find a new home, and seek out a peaceful life, all in aid of keeping her son safe.

With just a few episodes featuring Michonne coming up in the tenth season, could fans get a happy ending for one of the show’s favourite characters?

Meanwhile, it has been theorised Dwight (Austin Amelio) will be making a triumphant return to The Walking Dead in the upcoming seasons.

Dwight has just made his appearance in Fear the Walking Dead as his quest to find Sherry (Christine Evangelista) – who recently abandoned Dwight.

However, it has been theorised by fans that if Dwight did find Sherry in the coming episodes, and – providing she is alive -would perhaps bring her and him back to the Sanctuary.

Although a likely outcome, Dwight would first have to find out the truth about Sherry, and where she went after her exit.

Meanwhile showrunner Andrew Chambliss recently spoke out about Dwight reuniting with Morgan (Lennie James) after so long apart.

He told Entertainment Weekly: “They were in some of the bigger group scenes [in The Walking Dead], but Morgan and Dwight hadn’t actually had a lot of personal one-to-one interaction.

“They obviously both kind of know each other as characters and their history.

“So I think when they find each other, it was really the surprise that these two people ended up in the same place.”

The Walking Dead is expected to return later this year, while Fear the Walking Dead continues Monday on AMC UK.
