The Walking Dead boss reveals ‘epic’ season 10 finale will end on a cliffhanger ‘of massive importance’

THE Walking Dead will return to screens within the week for a string of episodes that will have grave, lasting consequences.

The AMC zombie drama will see The Whisperers wage war on the allied communities in the second half of season 10, with show boss Angela Kang previously claiming tensions would shift from cold war to all-out armageddon.

How the telly chief has claimed that when the series wraps, there will be ramifications that shape those left behind forever.

However, for those of you who like to have loose ends tied up, there’s some bad news – we’re set for a major cliffhanger.

“I’ll just say that there’s some big stuff and there is a cliffhanger, without getting into what exactly that is – but I think hopefully it will be exciting,” Kang told Entertainment Weekly.

“We’ve really tried to deliver something that feels epic.”

She also stressed that the coming episodes would pave the way for season 11 and beyond and urged fans to pay close attention to the many twists and turns that will unfold.

“I’ll say as a preview to getting towards the end, it gets really important to watch every episode, because as we get closer and closer to the finale, things of massive importance happen in every episode moving forward for now,” she concluded.

Fans previously predicted that The Whispers would revolt against leader Alpha (Samantha Morton) after losing faith in her brutal methods and end up joining Hilltop.

We’ve already seen Beta (Ryan Hurst) questions Alpha’s leadership after discovering a shrine to her daughter Lydia (Cassady McClincy), who walked out on the masked faction.

Then Gamma (Thora Birch) was crushed to learn that Alpha had lied about Lydia’s fate, leading to her developing a relationship with Aaron (Ross Marquand).

As such, perhaps more widespread mutiny is simply a ticking timebomb.

Elsewhere, AMC released the official episode titles and plot descriptions for the next two episodes of The Walking Dead.

They promised a bloody siege of Alexandria as Alpha takes her brutal command of The Whisperers to new extremes.

The Walking Dead season 10 returns on February 23 on AMC and on February 24 on FOX UK.
