The Walking Dead actress admits ‘it’s tough’ moving on after Laura’s brutal murder at hands of Beta

ANOTHER member of the allied communities bit the dust in the latest episode of The Walking Dead.

The AMC zombie drama saw Beta (Ryan Hurst) invade Alexandria this week through series of underground tunnels, which lead into the community’s graveyard.

His mission was simple – to bring Gamma (Thora Birch) back to Alpha (Samantha Morton) so she could make an example of her.

He proceeded to murder around a dozen people, letting his first batch of kills turn into walkers and terrorise the streets.

Among the people to stand in his way was Laura (Lindsley Register), who held the brute off so that Gamma could make an escape and hide in Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) house.

Pouncing on his back, Laura fought bravely, but ultimately she was overwhelmed by the hulking warrior.

Slamming her into the wall, before dumping her lifeless body on the wall, Beta didn’t seem to think twice about the tussle.

However, Register took to social media to express her dismay at being killed off after three seasons on The Walking Dead.

The blonde made her debut in season 7 as one of Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) Saviours, but proved to be a loyal and valiant member of Alexandria after he was toppled.

Register responded to a fan post, which read: Wait… Beta actually killed Laura?

“Nooooo I was screaming at him not to do it, she was my favourite side-character! Thank you for portraying her. You did an amazing job.”

The actress wrote back: “I can’t believe it’s over. Thank you.”

Another fan chipped in: “Why? Don’t think I will stop cosplaying her! Lots of love and I’m excited for what might come next for you.”

To which Register replied: “Thanks for sending love. It’s tough closing this chapter.”

Laura isn’t the only casualty of the series so far – Magna (Nadia Hilker) and Connie (Lauren Ridloff) were seemingly crushed when the cave collapsed in the midseason premiere.

However, upon looking at the cast lists, fans are holding out hope that they may have miraculously survived.

In next week’s episode, Hilltop gear up for battle as Alpha spearheads a brutal siege.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays on AMC in the US and Mondays on FOX in the UK.
