The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express adds Gatsby-style party package for 2020

Eco travel will be the biggest trend of 2020, but this doesn’t mean you have to forgo luxury.

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express has revealed the details of its decadent 1920’s themed party departing Venice on March 27 and arriving in London on March 29, 2020.

Dubbed ‘The Party’ it will take place aboard its vintage train made up of 19 carriages from the 1920’s and will begin with a celebration at the Belmond Hotel Cipriani on the island of Giudecca.

The train will depart from Santa Lucia station winding through the Alps of Italy, Austria, Switzerland and France before making its way to the UK in a private coach from Calais Ville Station.

Once in the UK, guests will change train to the Belmond British Pullman where they will be served afternoon tea and English sparkling wine while they make their way through the Kent countryside, before pulling into London Victoria.

Guests are encouraged to dress the part – think flapper dresses and tuxedos – while they sip on cocktails and dine on four-course meals.

The Venice Simplon-Orient Express travels around Europe from March to November and there will be three new suites on the train come 2020 – inspired by Venice, Budapest and Prague respectively.

For those who want to join The Party, it starts from £3,760 per person with a twin cabin on board the train, drinks and meals included as well as a one-night stay at the Belmond Hotel Cipriani.
