With 8 graphic novels already written for the comics turned into a series, there will be plenty of additional plot and story line to center the second season around.

Created by Universal Content Productions for Netflix, Gerard hopes the TV format will stay true to his writings, which appears to be the plan.

‘The idea is not to deviate too much. We want to stay on course with what the comics are doing,’ showrunner Steve Blackman told THR

‘Having that plan ahead of time allows us to set some things up now for later seasons, things that you’ll see and later be like, ‘Oh, I get that now, they did that for this reason.’ That’s what we’re thinking ahead to,’  he finished.

Blackman will serve alongside executive producers Jeff F. King, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg and Gabriel Ba to bring the comics to life. Gerard is also co-producing.

Season two’s return date is not yet decided, but production will start up again this summer in Toronto.
