The spookiest shows to watch on Netflix this Halloween

Long gone are the days of raucous Halloween parties and fright nights in the city. This year, Halloween is set to take a very different turn with gatherings likely to be kept to a maximum of six people. Don’t put your costumes away just yet though, there’s still ways to celebrate.

That’s right, Netflix is once again carrying us through the Coronavirus pandemic with a stream of spooky new TV dramas set to air this October. While it may sound more low-key than planned, your bank balance will be grateful, you won’t have to parade the streets in skimpy dresses lathered in fake blood, and your arsenal of face masks can double as eye masks when it all gets a bit much. Not so bad after all, right?

From all-out horror, to a more gentle scare, Netflix’s ghoulish offering will have you jumping out of your seat, clinging onto your best mate and putting your Coronavirus-related anxietiesat bay for a hot minute.

For those seeking the kind of horror that will prevent you ever sleeping soundly again, opt for The Haunting of Bly Manor, Mike Flanagan’s hotly anticipated follow up to The Haunting of Hill House. Based on a young governess who moves to Bly Manor to care for two orphaned children, this is set to be the scariest series to come out this year.

If you’re more into solving murder mysteries, Unsolved Mysteries: Volume Two will do just the trick. But fear not, if horror is your worst nightmare and you still want to get into the spirit of Halloween, indulge in animated kids series A Go! Go! Cory Carson Halloween. No judgement here – and no nightmares either.

With Halloween fast approaching, call up your five closest pals and plan the ultimate cosy night in front of the telly. Here are all of the scariest shows Netflix has to offer this October….
