The Simpsons Animated Short to Stream on Disney+ Tomorrow

“The film begins on a day that seemed like just another day at the park for Maggie Simpson,” reads the official synopsis. “But when Maggie faces playground peril, a heroic young baby whisks her from danger — and steals her heart. After a blissful first playdate, Maggie can’t wait to see her new baby beau again the following day, but things don’t go exactly as planned.  Will fate (or Homer) get in her way?”

The short film follows on from the 2012 Academy Award-nominated film, “The Longest Daycare” which Disney has also announced is coming to Disney+ later in the month. All of this is on top of joining Bart, Homer, Marge, Maggie, and Lisa through 30 seasons of the hit show, alongside The Simpsons Movie.

Disney+ recently announced it is fixing the aspect ratio issues. Most of the earlier seasons have been adjusted, and they’re still working on the rest.

The Simpsons is the longest-running primetime scripted show in television history. Starting as shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show, it spun off into a 30 minutes series and became cultural phenomenon. It is currently airing its record-destroying 31st season. While it doesn’t always reach the highs, lows or creamy middles of the classic episodes from the past, it is still one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises. They are currently in production on season 32.

The show’s won 34 Emmy Awards, 34 Annie Awards, 9 Environmental Media Awards, 7 People’s Choice Awards and 13 Writers Guild of America Awards. It was the first animated series to win a Peabody Award. The Simpsons even got a Star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000.
