VICKI Gunvalson may have lost her full-time housewife status on Real Housewives of Orange County, but that seems to have done little to knock their high ratings.
The 57-year-old reality star was demoted to a “friend” of the show, but viewers are still avidly tuning in despite threats of a boycott, according to RadarOnline.com on Thursday.
While fans may have been vocal on social media about their plans to boycott RHOC in solidarity, the show’s ratings didn’t take a hit at all.
The show – which is in its 14th season – scored 1.363 million viewers, according to TVByTheNumbers.com, for this week’s episode.
RHOC ratings have remained consistent for the season which started in August without Vicki.
The premiere scored 1.42 million viewers, up from the previous season’s 1.41 million viewers, reports TVByTheNumbers.com
The self-titled OG of the OC was relegated to a few appearances, after 14 years on the show.
“I’ve been watching since season 1 and it’s so sad how different the show is now,” on commenter wrote on Vicki’s Instagram page, and she responded: “I couldn’t agree with you more.”
Vicki was the only remaining original star on the show. The next longest run was Tamra Judge who began in Season 3 and continues as a housewife to this day.
Her boyfriend Steve Lodge finally popped the question in a storyline for the show.
There have been fireworks with Kelly Dodd, who called Vicki a “f***ing con woman crook” as Vicki retorted: ‘You are a bully!’ during a spa break.
The Real Housewives of Orange County is on Tuesdays at 9pm ET/PT on Bravo.
